Default Master Class with Mark Hayes

I was lucky enough to attend the Master Class with Mark Hayes at Sassoon in Santa Monica this last Sunday. Boy, let me tell you. The man is an artist and has now officially become my hair hero (a title I do not hand out lightly!).

Enjoy a few pictures from the class

Wow!

Awesomely executed, but why oh why do Sassoon's collections have to be so dammed FUGLY???

And what's with the eyebrows this year? Ugh.

I understand the artestry and skill, however....but it's not eye appealing.

Funny the difference of opinion. I absolutely LOVE the current collections especially the partial perms. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Mark Hayes is reinventing Sassoon post Tim Hartley. My theory is that Tim truly doesn't care about making women look beautiful, he just did edgy hair while Mark's work is pretty as well as cool.
I like so much of Mark's stuff I may actually recant on my pledge to never attend Sassoon training. Good stuff Russel!

Michael, you and I are on the same page when it comes to Sassoon.

I have been uninterested in what they have done for so many years that in my mind they have were irrelevant.

Once Tim Hartley left and Mark Hayes took over I started to notice his work and have become more and more impressed. I actually attended my first Sassoon class.

On a side note, Stephen Moody is one of the coolest and nicest people on the planet and has an awesome head of hair that I'm jealous of!

I really enjoyed looking at those. BUT but but, I'm with Skwij. I can see going to something like that to be entertained with something unique, but don't see the practicality of it. If I had a client of mine leave looking like those hair models, she would never come back.

I guess I like soft and pretty and believable. None of those were realistic. They were futuristic! Which I guess for you Maven....works.
