Salon addition and remodel.. Update 1
Posted by: | Comments
After taking over the space next to the salon, it was previously a real estate office, I have been working steadily to get things ready for business. The first step was to remove the ancient, or vintage if you prefer
, wallpaper. When you touched it, your hands stuck to it due to what I would imagine is years of cigarette smoke and nicotine build up. Just touching that should be enough to make you want to quit smoking if you ever did. After the wallpaper was pulled down (a difficult and tedious job it was), it was time to remove the moldy carpet. Gross Gross Gross. Nothing smells like napalm in the morning, but NOTHING smells like 25 year old carpet on a hot Sunday afternoon! Did I mention it was GROSS?Next, after washing the walls from all wallpaper residue we gave them a base primer coat and then 2 coats of ultra bright white paint. These are the photos up to that point, sorry I don’t have a total before picture,

Last weekend we painted the ceiling (which just about broke your neck since it’s about 12 feet high and laid the laminate wood floor. On a bitchy note, of course when you go back to the store to get the exact same floor that you put into the next room so everything matches, they discontinued making it and you have to get their ‘new and improved’ version of the previous floor style. Ugh….After putting the flooring in, I felt pretty good. The next 3 days it was hard for me to move and get out of bed. I instantly aged about 30 years and had arthritis in EVERY joint and every muscle in my thighs hurt. I’m all better now though with the sense of accomplishment of a job well done. Here is the floor.
Equiptment is ordered and should arrive within two weeks, when it does I’ll post finished pictures of the expansion. Now… Time to devise my advertising plan to take over the WORLD and build my empire of hair. Bruu haa haa haa Bruu haa haa haa.
